| Abstract: | Let R be a finite von Neumann algebra acting on a complex Hibert space H . In this short note it is shown that every normal element A in R is reductive affiliated with R, and furthermore, the strongly closed subalgebra generated by A and the commutant of R is a von Neumann algebra. |
