Analysis of the Techniques of Disc Swirl Spinning Process

Disc swirl spinning is a new method of spinning. In this paper, the device and flow chart of disc swirl spinning were introduced, and the primary parameters that affect the disc swirl spinning process were discussed. By using this device, core spun yarn was successfully spun. To know the process characteristics and performances of disc swirl spun yarn, properties such as tenacity and coverage of the yarn were tested. According to the test result, the relations between the processing parameters and the yarn performance was analyzed.It is found that the first nozzle pressure, the second nozzle pressure, the rotational speed of comb roller, feed quantity, sliver count, feed tension and the unwinding tension of the core yarn are the main processing parameters of disc swirl spinning.
