Abstract:By using a multi-anchor chain mooring system, the surge, sway and yaw ossilations of a ship is to some extent limited and this leads to considerable reduction of ship impact. In order to achieve sooth cargo handling it is preferable to choose the multi-anchor chain system for the anchored cargo transhipment floating platform in restrict water areas. The parameter of the mooring system can be determined by using catenary or prabolic formula deduced in the present paper. A practical example is given for the design of anchorage in which the diameter of anchor chain ?, the minimum chain length S_0 and the horizantal chain lenth at sea bed L, are determined according to the water depth, the strength of the anchor chain is checked, and the weight and the burried depth of reinforced concrete or iron anchor block are chosen.
