| Abstract: | Various microfacies in different depoeitional systems have been recognized through the study of moderndeposits in Xingyun lake basin. Cenozoic sediments revealed by exploration drilling are subdivided into threefacies associations, namely (1) alluvial fan-flooded plain-swamp peatbog, (2) shallow lake-alluvial fan and(3) lacustrine plain-shallow lake. Tectonic and climate control on sedimentation and development of thelake basin and its implication to petroleum geology is also discussed. |
