| Abstract: | A theoretical and experimental analysis of the failure criterion of nonhomogeneous nonlin- ear anisotropic rocks is given.In the failure criterion proposed in the paper,the influence of interme- diate principal stress is taken into account,the strength of anisotropic and nonhomogeneous rocks,the nonlinear envelope of the Mohr circles and the effect of nonhomgeneous temperature on rock strength are all discussed.Many classical crteria may be obtained through simplifying the present criterion. There are thirteen material constants in this criterion.They may be determined by conventional tests. An example is given.In the example this criterion is applied in the analysis of experimental results of the bedrock of Ankang Dam. |
