| Abstract: | According to the characteristic of real-time video communication in mobile communication system, a motion estimation algorithm for video compress coding that is applicable to video phone and video conference is presented. The paper judges the type of motion vector of the current block by using three predictive vectors of current block, and adopts different search strategy for motion estimation according to the type of motion vector of the current block and the feature that video objects move in mobile videophone. Through testing four different types of video sequences, the proposed algorithm effectively reduces motion estimation time, and improves real-time performance of encoder under the premise of subjective and objective quality of image. |
