| 摘 要： | 海丝特·白兰是霍桑长篇小说《红字》里的女主人公。在霍桑这部仅有二十四个章节的小说里，作者几乎用了十八章的篇幅来塑造刻画这一女性人物。霍桑通过对海丝特在“红字”世界里“主体”地位的确立，表达了他对男权社会中把女性作为“客体”的传统观念的颠覆的倾向。同时，通过对海丝特人物的刻画，体现了霍桑早期的女权主义思想。

| Abstract: | Hester Prynne is the heroin of Nathaniel Hawthorne's novel The Scarlet Letter.In this 24-chapter novel,Hawthorne covered almost 18 chapters to portray the female character.Through the establishment of Hester' s positionas"the dominant"in the Scarlet Letter,Hawthorne expressed his intention of overthrowing the feudal notion of female as"the subordinated"in the male-dominant society".Meanwhile,through the character portrayal of Hester,the novel reflects Hawthorne's feminism in his early period. |
