Abstract:The vivo low temperature (80 K) fluorescence emission spectra of etiolated rice shoots indicated that Nongken 58 had a characteristic phytochrome A (PhyA) band with an emission maximumat 683.8 nm, while in the case of photoperiod sensitive genic male sterile rice (Nongken 58S) no visible phytochrome peak was recorded.This suggested that PhyA in Nongken 58S somewhat differed from that in Nongken 58, at least, in the fluospectral properties.
