| Abstract: | Irony is the opposite of the word employed and meaning implied.It can be classified into three categories:verbal irony,situational irony and dramatic irony.The function of irony is to satirize,to make an expression humorous and witty,and,sometimes,to indicate the intimate relationship between the speaker and listener. |
