模扩展结构半导体激光器的有限元分析

摘    要:运用近似的标量有限元法对模式扩展的结构进行了分析,结合实际,精确划分了有限元网络,模拟出了模扩展的近场图形,并详细分析了结构内部的能量转换效率及其与单模光纤的耦合效率,找到了一种能够指导半导体激光器、放大器设计的有效工具,结果表明,分析结果与已有的实验结论基本符合,波导区折射率大大不能对模场进行有效限制,太小则使模场转换发生困难。

Abstract:The expanded output mode structure is studied by the approximate scalar finite element method. This method is formulated and the elements are subdivided. The numerical simulation results of this structure show the near field images, the inner power conversion efficiency and the coupling efficiency between the laser and the single mode fiber. A tool available to instruct the design of the semiconductor laser or semiconductor optical amplifier is found. And the results show the analysis is consistent with the experiment.
