关联理论视角下的《茶馆》翻译研究

关联理论因语用研究而生,现今却越来越多涉及翻译领域。其示意——推理模式能恰当地解释许多翻译现象。本文首先从理论层面简略阐释关联理论与翻译的关系,随后用关联理论比较英若诚与霍华两个《茶馆》英译本对文化现象的不同处理方式,举例验证关联理论在评析文学作品翻译上强大的阐释力。

On the Translation of Cha Guan : A Perspective of Relevance Theory

Relevance Theory(RT)arises from pragmatic studies,yet it is more and more involved in translation.The ostensive-inferential model is quite powerful to account for many translation phenomena.This paper first briefly discusses the correlation between RT and translation from a theoretical perspective and then by applying RT,it makes comparisons about the cultural translation in two of the Cha Guan English versions,one by Ying Ruocheng,and the other by John Howard Gibbon.It is a tentative exemplification to illustrate the interpretive role that RT plays in literary translation practice.
