| Abstract: | The common feature of these languages is the use of path expressions, which define a way of navigating an XML tree and returning the set of nodes reachable from one starting node through the path specified by its path expression. Therefore, the optimization for path expression is the key of XML query optimization.This paper analyzes some optimizing techniques for XML path expression queries in detail and subsequently offers the key problems and major technical characteristic of these techniques. |
