A SEM Study on the Stereoscopic Structures of Cortical Cytoskeleton in Euplotes sp.

The cortical cytoskeleton of the whole cell is c om posed of a fiber basket in Euplotes sp. The oral cortical cytoskeleton (OCS) i s composed of adoral zone of membranelle brackets and the fibers over and beneat h the bracket, undulating membrane bracket. The ventral cortical cytoskeleton (V CS) is composed of the longitudinfibers under the subpelliclar layer and the fib er net over the pellicle, the cirral-base-associated fibers and their radialing fibers extending ground, and the deep fibers layer. The dorsal cortical skeleton (DCS) is composed of the longitudinal fibers under the subpelliclar layer and t he fiber net over the pellicle. The fiber structure between OCS and VCS contact each other transitionally. Additionally, on the basis of above observations and the information on hand, the author summarized the structural components of the cortical cytoskeleton in Euplotes sp.
