Abstract:A mathematical model of natural convection inside porous media in a closed rectangular cavity with local cooling on top is estabidhed. Flow field, temperature field and their variation with the main parameters are obtained by numerical method. The results show that Rayleigh number and local cooling aspect ratio have great effects on flow characteristics, temperature distribution and natural convection heat transfer intensity.
