Abstract:Sarcoplasmic reticulum plays an important role in regulating the contraction-relaxation of skeletal muscles. This paper studied the effects of acute exercise on SR Ca transport capacity of skeletal muscles of rats. It was found that the SR Ca 2 -ATP ase activity(51.12%P<0.01) and Ca 2 uptake rate(17.72%P<0.01) were decreased significantly after exhausted running;but the content of lipid peroxide in sarcoplasmic reticulum from the exercise group rats was significantly higher than that from the controlled rats(48.85% P<0.01). The results suggested that the enhancement of lipid peroxidation via the exercise animals might be responsible for the decreases of Ca 2 -ATP ase activity and Ca 2 uptake rate in sarcoplasmic reticulum in the exercise animals, the reduction of SR Ca 2 uptake rate might be closely related to exercise-induced skeletal muscle fatigue.
