机会识别、国际双元与新兴市场跨国企业的技术追赶

国际双元作为企业平衡冲突性国际化活动的能力,为新兴市场跨国企业的技术赶超提供了可能,但不同国际机会情境下后发企业如何构建国际双元进行技术追赶的过程仍知之甚少。文章通过海天2007~2019年对外直接投资的纵向案例研究,探究了不同国际机会类型下新兴市场跨国企业构建差异性国际双元模式实现技术赶超的过程。研究发现,基于技术追赶的动态过程,新兴市场跨国企业面临技术创新机会与市场套利机会时,会分别采取探索性ODI战略与利用性ODI战略;在该过程中,国际双元经历了从次序型双元模式向共时型双元模式的演进。

Opportunity Identification, International Ambidexterity and Technology Catch-up for the Emerging Market Multinational Enterprises (EMMEs)

International ambidexterity is the capability that balance conflicting international activities, which provide the possibility of beyond catch-up for EMMEs. However, little is known about the process of how EMMEs building international ambidexterity to achieve technology catch-up in different international opportunities. Through the longitudinal case study of Haitian ODI from 2007~2019, the research found that the EMMEs would adopt explorative ODI when they faced technological innovation opportunity, and choose exploitative ODI facing market arbitrage opportunity. The research also found that the international ambidexterity of EMMEs evolve from the mode of sequential ambidexterity to simultaneous ambidexterity based on the dynamic process of beyond catch-up.
