| Abstract: | The electronic nose is a novel apparatus ,which simulates human olfaction to analyze, recognize and examine complex gas and volatility. Through an analogy between the human and the electronic olfactory systems, the fundamental principle and composition of the electronic nose are well introduced. A comparison with the gas chromatography reveals the electronic nose application field. The status quo and the development direction in this field are summarized and its market value is also forecast here. |
