| Abstract: | This paper reported the toxicity of acetofenate, a new chlorinated insecticide. Its oral LD50 values were 1164.5mg/kg BM. in male mice, 3116.0mg/kg in female mice. Depression signs of central nervous system and irritation of gastrointestinal tract were noted in experiments of acute poisoning. The cumulative toxic test indicated that the cumulation coefficient was more than 9.36, and then it was classified to the group of weak cumulative insecticide. In the subchronic test, the mice were maintained on diets containing O, 125, 500ppm acetofenate for 10 months. Enlarged liver was observed in higher dosage group, but there were only slight changes in lower dose level. |
