| 摘 要： | 赛珍珠的作品《大地》中处处体现作者对人物的怜悯之情,不论是家庭中强势的男性还是柔弱的女性,甚至是仆人,作者都给予了极大的同情;对于处在那个年代的中国百姓的命运,作者在细腻的刻画中流露出悲凉之情;同时赛珍珠本人一生热衷于慈善。不论是作品还是赛珍珠本人所呈现的博爱精神,都有必要在现今社会中大力宣扬。

| Abstract: | The author of this paper has discussed the characters in the novel The Good Earth, written by Pear S. Buck, who shows great sympathy on the characters no matter whether they are strong male or female or even servants in the family. The author＇s universal fraternity showed in the novel and in the author herself as well needs popularizing in our society today. |
