Abstract: | The electro-optical properties of liquid crystalline side chain polymers with siloxane groups as main chain are reported.
It is shown that this type of LCPs (liquid crystalline polymers) with main chain (Si−O) has lower glass transition temperature
and smaller elastic constant, which leads to shorter response time, especially. The LCPs with strong polar mesogenic groups
(CN) have higher positive Δε value, which results in lower threshold voltage and shorter response time.
