On the New Spirit of the Arts in the New Century

Contemporary Chinese arts face a fact that the art activities have to involve themselves in the market, which become an excuse for treating literature as merchandise. Literature can not display what the Human gives her if she keeps herself out of this human world. Literature in the new century should depend on her own free consciousness to develop her healthy nature and then to exhibit the deepest meanings of the human tendency.
