| Abstract: | The research corpus consists of 30 bad-news business letters from all kinds of Business English textbooks home and abroad. It is a qualitative study with exemplification on the application of politeness princi-ple in bad news business letters at the syntactical level, aiming at providing some enlightenment for the teaching of business letter writing and business communication. |
