| Abstract: | For the counting function of alternating permutations, it has been shown by Zhang and Lin that f(R, l, l + q) is a polynomial of degree R in the variable l. Combining the counting formula and the technique of difference operator, this note obtains the explicit expressions of run polynomials and gives a direct verification of the above mentioned proposition. |
