A Study on the Retention of Cobalt Base Bonding Agent to Diamond

For improving the retention of cobalt base bonding agent to diamond,the authors propose and verify two feasible ways -partly liquid phase sintering and adding strong carbide forming elements into bonding agent. The proposal is based mainly on a comparison made between the loss ratio of bending strength of the segment with diamond and that of the segment without diamond.It is also based on the working principle of diamond saw blade;and on the relation between the density and the hardness of cobalt base bonding agent and the retention force of diamond.
