| Abstract: | This paper, from synchronic and diachronic perspectives, investigates the conception of plot, an important morphological concept in literature and art. It sorts out its history of evolution, and probes into the connotation and foundation of its essential components. So a comprehensive understanding of the concept of plot can be obtained. |
