| Abstract: | The current thesis is concerned about the application of speech act theory on the cultivation of cross-cultural communicative competence in foreign language teaching. Based on the main theories of Austin and Searl, the thesis tries to analyze the possible difficulties of cross-cultural communication caused by the functional difference of speech acts in different cultures. Suggestions are given to improve cross-cultural communicative competence with knowledge of speech acts in different cultures and communicative training in classroom. |
