| Abstract: | Lycione inhibits the cell elongation of wheat coleoptile and the activity of peroxidase also.The range of inhibition of the activity of peroxidase depends on the concentration of lycorine used.The effect of lycorine on the peroxidase isoenxyme in wheat coleptile is ex- pressed by the fewer numbers and lighter color of electrophoresis zymogram than in the control. Endogenous ABA on wheat coleoptile accumulates when it is treated by lycorine.The content of ABA treated samples is three times higher than that if the control.Exogenous ATP stimulates the cell elongation of wheat coleptile segments.It seems likely that ATP can recover the inhibtion of lycrine on cell elongation. |
