| Abstract: | This paper summarized the main theories and methods in measuring field evapotranspiration, i.e. water balance, lysimeter, zero flux plane method, eddy correlation,and energy balance method. The shortcomings in applying these theories and methods were discussed; furthermore, the future trends on measuring evapotranspiration in farmland were forecasted. |
