DEVELOPMENT OF CATALYST FOR PRODUCTION OF OLEFIN BY CATALYTIC HYDROCARBON PYROLYSIS

The development and present status of catalytic pyrolysis for the production of light olefins from petroleum fractions are reviewed on the basis of a literature survey covering past twenty years. The factors affecting the catalytic pyrolysis process and the catalyst preparation methods are the two main points stressed. Although the production of olefins from the method of catalytic pyrolysis is effected by man factors and problems, it ownes three merits in contrast to steam pyrolysis, which are to save energy, decrease the petroleum fraction wastage and increase the production of olefins, as well as to decrease the insturment payment.
