历史主义在文化研究中的意义

历史主义是一种不同于理性分析的社会科学的方法,在东西方的历史和现实中都具有重要的地位.它在20世纪中国的文化研究中,曾受到一定程度的忽视,但在90年代以后逐渐受到关注.理性在研究自然和社会的时候致力于建立普遍的法则和秩序,区分真理和谬误、进步和落后、善和恶、美和丑等,历史主义不同于实证主义史学和简单的进步史观,它消解了理性的二元对立,摆脱了理性的局限性,从更广阔的范围将文化和历史表现为一个运动变化的过程.

The Significance of Historicism in Cultural Studies

Historicism is seen as a method for social scientific research, which differs from rational analysis and plays an important role in human history. In the 20th Century, the method of historicism was neglected in extent for academic research in China, but it still has exerted some influences upon people's thinking since the 1990s. Rationality intends to find out general rules and distinguish the true from false, the good from evil and the beautiful from ugly. The notion of historicism explains that historical approach, distinct from natural approach, opposes rational dualism.
