Zur Stereochemie der enzymatischen Dehydrierung von Butyryl-CoA

Summary The stereochemistry of the formation of crotonyl CoA from butyryl CoA catalyzed by the appropriate pig liver enzyme was investigated using samples of butyric acid specifically labelled with tritium in the two methylene groups. It is shown that oxidation involves specific removal of the pro-R hydrogen atoms from positions 2 and 3 of the substrate.
