| 摘 要： | 菲茨杰拉德的小说《了不起的盖茨比））传播了它所创作的那个时代占主导地位的自我奋斗者的话语：美国任何贫穷的男孩，只要他有良好的个人品质，就都能够到达经济世界的顶峰。同时，《了不起的盖茨比》包含自我奋斗者话语中的一个核心矛盾：自我奋斗者的话语声称向所有有抱负和毅力的人打开美国历史的史册，使其“榜上有名”，然而同时却弥漫着“逃逸”历史、超越时间、地点和人类局限等历史现实的欲望。

| Abstract: | Fitzgerald＇s novel The Great Gatsby spreads the dominant discourse of the self made men of the period to which the novel was related. The discourse was that any poor boy in USA, if he had good personal quality, could grow up and develop into a crucial role in the financial world. At the same time, a key contradiction of self made man＇s discourse was also mentioned in Fitzgerald＇s novel The Great Gatsby. The contradiction was consisted of spreading a desire for escaping from history and exceeding realities （time place and human being＇s limitation） and giving a promise of being remembered and admired by all the other Americans to those who had ambitions and perseverance |
