论性别歧视——英语谚语观

本文从女性的不同方面如地位、外貌、言行、智慧、贞操、软弱以及婚姻等,研究了英语谚语中的性别歧视,以此来表现社会中的性别歧视现象。这里指出了女性较之男性偏低的社会地位,同时讨论了不同时期影响女性地位低的社会、历史、及文化根源。而这些根源又和当今女性的社会状况得到改观有着密切的联系。尽管如此,要根本改善这一状况需要社会各界长期不懈的努力与合作。
