| Abstract: | The origin and development of fractal geometry and some basic concepts concerning fractal and fractal dimension are reviewed in this paper. Some examples of application are also introduced, which include those in the following respects: seismology, study of sedimentary rock structure and its electrical conductivity and analysis of viscous fingering during oil field development. |
