福-赛理论与外语专业课程设置

摘    要:福柯的权力话语和赛义德的新东方主义理论揭示了两个真相:知识纯粹中性之虚伪,话语霸权解构之可能。高校外语专业课程设置可以从话语权力理论和新东方主义理论中得以重要的启示,以纠正跨文化交际教学中存在的偏差,以英语讲授的《中国国情与文化》课程的设置与教学为例,虽然其教学目的是多层面的,但从本质上讲该课程是话语霸权的一种文化抵抗,提出了外语教育中文化教育平衡发展的理论依据。

Abstract:The theories of Foucault's "discourse power" and Said's "new orientalism" shed light to two important issues: first, knowledge is not neutral. Second, it is possible to disintegrate discourse hegemony. These theories are helpful in designing the curriculum in foreign languages major. Taking the curriculum "Survey to China Today and Her Culture", a course taught in English, though its teaching aims are vary, its nature functions as a cultural resisting tactic against discourse hegemony, a theoretical basis to achieve the balance of cultural teaching in foreign language education.
