| 摘 要： | 《已故上校的女儿》是英国著名短篇小说家曼斯菲尔德所著的一部短篇小说,主要描述了一对姐妹在独裁专政的父亲死后所过的彷徨孤独的生活。曼斯菲尔德用作品表达了从二十世纪初到二次世界大战前混乱的西方社会中对个人命运的关切。本文分析并探讨了导致姐妹俩悲剧生活的根源,指出小说的悲剧主题及独特的写作技巧使其能够经受住时间的考验,并保持醉人的艺术魅力。

| Abstract: | The Daughter of the Late Colonel is a short story written by Katherine Mansfield, a famous British short story writer. It mainly describes the lonely life of two sisters after the death of their tyrannical father. Mansfield expresses in her works her concern about the fate of the individual in western society from early twentieth century to the eve of the Second World War. This paper mainly analyzes the causes that lead to the two sisters' tragic life and points out that the tragic theme of the story and unique writing techniques make it possible stand upon the test of time and maintain the enchanting artistic charm. |
