| Abstract: | Presented in this paper is a new signal processing method which is based on a nonlinear local prediction model (NLLP) and applied to speech coding. In the same implementation, the speech coding with NLLP gives better performance than reference versions of the standard ITU_T G.728 and the linear local scheme. The computation complexity for NLLP supplies better prediction performance than LP and the linear local prediction (LLP). With an appropriate state space neighbour for the nonlinear local analysis, the short_delay predictor is also able to effectively model the long_term correlation without pitch estimation. |
