| Abstract: | Moving from a discussion of the characteristics of Scientific-technical
terms the present study is mainly concerned with those semantically compatible
lexemes, which appear as terms in scientific discourse. Of special interest are
the classification and the selection Of the compatible sememes, the mechanism
of transfer in the process of semantic specialization and its contribution to the
expansion of the vocabulary of special purpose languages. |
