| Abstract: | This paper discusses and examines the action of freeway variable speed signs on the basis of analysing movement characteristics of freeway traffic flow. The variable speed sign interactive model and control algorithm are proposed. The effectiveness of this model and algorithm have been evaluated by traffic flow wave theory. |
