Abstract:Electrical and contractile activity of the chicken glandular stomach in vitro were observed,and the effects of various transmitters and receptor blockers on the fast wave and contraction were investigated. The fast wave and contraction could be reduced by atropine and phentolamine respectively,and enhanced by acetylcholine and noradrenaline separately. The response to acetylchoiine and Noradrenaline could be opposed by atropine and phentolamine respectively. The results indicate that there are cholinergic and adrengic fibres in the glandular stomach auerbachh's plexus. Excitation produced by Acetylcholine and noradrenaline are mediated through M-receptors and a-receptors separately. Acetylcholine and Noradrenaline potentiated the contraction through enhancing the fast wave.
