| Abstract: | The development of classical mechanics could be divided into five stages, i.e. Newton mechanics, Lagrange mechanics, Hamilton mechanics, nonholonomic mechanics, and Birkhoff mechanics. The historical contributions of each stage are summarized, then from which the problems are found and inspirations are obtained. |
