Solving of Water Hammer by Method of Characteristic curves and Its application In Dong-Lei Pumping Station

This paper present the theory, means and step for solving the water hammer of pumping station by method of characteristics. Giving an ex- ample of closing a "two-step" disk valve of a large pumping station to inquire the program of shutdown disk valve effect on the characteristics of water hammer, thus finding the optimum adjusting schemeto provide reliable basis for safe operation of pumping station.
