| Abstract: | The technique of computer simulation for production scheduling system is described and the formation of a standard for the production period and yield as well as production schedule by GASP IV simulation language are discussed.The entities of production scheduling system are composed of workpieces and facilities. The decision variables include the production period and yield, the operation delay due to transportation, and the coefficients concerning sequencing priority. The method for formulating the earliest starting time of operation is discussed and the algorithm for determining the sequencing priority with several factors taken into consideration and the criteria for evaluating system performance are given.The GASP IV model for system simulation will set the files and events of simulation. Simulation programs are made up of the main program and ten-odd subprograms, whose major functions are also described.The output of simulation for determining the standard of the production period and yield and the steps of drawing up the production schedule are given. |
