| Abstract: | A new process of laser machining ceramic material is experimentally studied. The microstructure of the cut surface is as the same as the substrate when using acousticoptical Q-switch YAG laser to remove the stock by vaporization. The cutting accuracy of the process is mainly decided by the focal depth of the laser beam and the power density at the focal spot. A method to examine the cutting accuracy of the process is proposed. Experimental results are in agreement with theoretical predication. |
