试论翻译的无标记性对等

直译和意译是中外译界长期以来争论不休的话题,但争论的实质是对直译和意译存在着主观性和模糊性的认识。直译和意译并不是两种对立的翻译方法,翻译的过程也不是在直译和意译之间选择的过程,而是寻求译文和原文的无标记性对等的过程。

A Tentative Analysis on Unmarked Equivalence of Translation

Literal translation and free translation have long been debated as two basic translation methods. However, the essence of this debate lies in the subjectivity and vagueness to the awareness of the two terms. Literal translation and free translation are not two opposing methods of translation, and the translation process is not a process of selection between literal translation and free translation, but that of pursuing an unmarked equivalence.
