| 摘 要： | 面向对象系统的开发在语义上大大缩小了数据库存储对象和真实世界对象之间的差距．但面向对象数据库系统是被动的．主动数据库系统提供一种机制监视数据库的状态，能够主动对数据库内部的值或外部条件变化作出反应．面向主动对象的数据库系统将两者功能有机地结合在一起，一方面增强了面向对象数据库的功能，另一方面也弥补了主动数据库系统的某些不足．本文回顾了面向主动对象数据库的发展，介绍现已提供的面向主动对象的数据库系统的特点，最后探讨了本领域的挑战和发展方向。

| Abstract: | The development of objected database systems means a great advance in narrowing the semantics gap between the real world representation and the database representation of objects.But,the object-oriented database systems are passive.Active database systems support mechanisms that enable them to respond automatically to events that are taking place either within or outside the database system itself.Active object-oriented database systems combine the capabilities of object-oriented database systems and active database systems.This paper reviews research and development work in active object-oriented database,presents the fundamental characteristics of active object-oriented systems,and discusses future work in this domain. |
