妙舟法师的《蒙藏佛教史》是我国近代第一部系统记述蒙古和西藏佛教史的专书,该书略古详今,渗透着反侵略的爱国主义思想;资料翔实,保存了大量珍贵的原始史料;虽然还存在一些不足之处,但对后来者的研究,仍然具有重要的史料意义和参考价值。

Review on Miao Zhou＇s The History of Tibetan and Mongolian Buddhism

Miao Zhou＇s The History of Tibetan and Mongolian Bubbhism is the first book systematically narrating the history of Tibetan and Mongolian Buddhism. The book gives an elaborate account of modern part but summarizes the ancient part, showing its patriotism and the idea of anti-invasion; it is rich in documents and preserves much valuable historiography. Although there are still some flaws, it is of great importance for the late scholars to do the relative research.
