The Functional Equivalence Instructs Business Name Translation

Business name translation from Chinese to English is disordered. On the base of sample collection, this paper discusses and analyzes business name translation in the aspect of its form, tone and meanings. With the help of Nida's Equivalence translation theory this article points out that its translation is based on thorough understanding of original one, and the basic principles of translation are conciseness, expressiveness and flexibility.
