1. (1) The fecundity of Schilbe mystus (Linnaeus 1762) was determined by Stone's method through the examination of 53 ripe females.

2. (2) The fecundity of the specimens examined was found to vary in the range 7650-62118.

3. (3) In general fecundity is a function of length and weight of the specimen.

4. (4) The average diameter of the ova varied in the range 0.675–0.850 mm.
