| Abstract: | A mathematical model of water hammer arrester with the lower open type in calculating the hydraulic transient in the pump systems is established. Also, the effect of water hammer arrester upon the hydraulic transient in the pump systems is studied through the calculation of actual examples; and the determination of the arrester mouth diameter is discussed in this paper. |
